John D. McMahon

John D. McMahon is President and CEO of Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. He previously served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Consolidated Edison, Inc., its parent company.  He joined the company in 1976 as an attorney in the Rate Proceedings department. In 1992, he received Con Edison’s “Living Our Values” award, the Company’s highest employee award. During his career, he has been closely involved in the utility industry restructuring. A graduate of Manhattan College and New York Law School, Mr. McMahon has also completed the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School and Wharton Business School. Mr. McMahon is active in community and professional organizations and serves on the Board of Directors of the Rockland Economic Development Corporation, the Board of the New Jersey Utilities Association and the Ramapo College Foundation Board of Governors. Devoted to his family, community and a healthy lifestyle, Mr. McMahon recently ran the NYC marathon.  John is married and the father of three sons.

A.J. Sabath ’93 

A.J. Sabath is the chief of staff to the President of the New Jersey Senate and is the only alumnus of Ramapo College currently serving on its Board of Trustees.   Previously, he has served as Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development for the State of New Jersey and was Director of Constituent Relations and Intergovernmental Affairs and Senior Research Associate for the New Jersey Senate Majority Office and the New Jersey General Assembly. For two years, Mr. Sabath worked overseas for the National Democratic Institute in the former Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan. In addition to conducting democracy and governance training programs for political, civic and government organizations, he created an election monitoring panel of local officials that collected and publicized voter complaints of intimidation, inaccuracies, and fraud.  Mr. Sabath is a member of the State Board of Examiners for Master Plumbers and previously served as an executive member of the Capital Planning Commission and a board member of the School Construction Corporation.  Mr. Sabath is married and is the proud father of two daughters.

Lawrence and Theresa Salameno

Lawrence and Theresa Salameno are key supporters of Ramapo College and are instrumental in the establishment of an on-campus Spiritual Center.   Mrs. Salameno is a member of the Board of Governors of the Ramapo College Foundation. She grew up in England and graduated with honors as a certified chef and earned a degree in Hospitality Management. Her many clients included the Queen of England. After practicing law for several years. Mr. Salameno began his career in the financial services industry with Merrill Lynch & Co. in 1976. Currently, he is Executive Vice-President and Director of Permal Group., and Director of Permal Group Ltd., Legg Mason Companies. Mr. Salameno graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. and Doctor of Jurisprudence.  He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Oak Knoll School and the Valley Hospital Foundation.  Mr. and Mrs. Salameno are trustees of Stonehill College and have adopted two parish schools in Boston; St. Gregory’s and Cathedral School, providing both with scholarship and capital construction grants. Their daughter, Francesca, is a 2006 Ramapo graduate and teaches in Allendale.  Their son Charles is a sophomore at Boston University.
