In association with Active Minds Professor of Psychology Maya Poran will host a discussion about the history of women and mental health. The discussion will touch upon the general history of women in western psychology, approaches to mental health as it relates to gender, mental health in relation to gender norms, stereotypes about women, and how gender stereotypes have influenced the treatment of women. Following the discussion there will be an opportunity to make comments and ask questions. Refreshments will be served.
Join the Ebony Women for Social Change for a discussion about body image, perceptions about your body, and how these perceptions can affect your mental health.
Join the sisters of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. for an event focused on how our position as women impact our mental health. The event will begin with a brief overview of the history of women and mental health followed by a discussion on the daily issues women face and how these issues impact their mental health.
