Instructions & Policies

Thank you for considering Ramapo College for your summer housing needs! The following information outlines the requirements, policies, and procedures for interns living on campus through the Corporate Intern Housing Program.

⚠️ Residency is strictly limited to the dates listed on the [Program Timeline].

📝 Top 5 Things to Know Before Applying

  1. Dates Matter: Housing is only available during the official Summer Corporate Intern Housing Timeline—no early arrivals or late stays.
  2. Application & Sponsor: Interns must submit the online Housing Agreement, and their corporate sponsor must submit the Corporate Contact Summary Form.
  3. Payment & Deposit: First month’s rent and a $200 damage deposit are due at check-in. Deposit refunds (if applicable) will be processed in October.
  4. Policies & Rules: Alcohol, illegal drugs, candles, halogen lamps, and pets are prohibited. Violations may result in fines or dismissal.
  5. Check-In & Check-Out: Confirm your exact dates via your housing application. Bring a government ID for check-in, and return your temporary ID at check-out.

Application Information

  • The Corporate Intern Housing Application (also called the Housing Agreement or Housing Request) must be completed online by the intern.
  • Use your full legal name when completing the form.
  • Each intern must also have a Corporate Sponsor. Sponsors are required to submit the Corporate Contact Summary Form once each summer for all interns.
  • A valid email address is required—this is how you’ll receive your housing confirmation and official communications. Please add corpintern@ramapo.edu to your safe sender list.

Damage Deposit & Refunds

  • A damage deposit check (personal or business check only) is required from every intern.
  • If no damages are assessed, your check will be voided and shredded.
  • If damages occur, the check will be deposited and any remaining balance refunded to the U.S. mailing address on your application.
  • Refunds go to whoever paid the deposit (intern or company). The intern and sponsor should clarify this before submitting forms.

Housing Terms

  • Housing is billed at a flat nightly rate per intern, per single bedroom.
  • Assignments may mix interns from different companies; placements are first-come, first-served.
  • Standard policy: same-sex apartment assignments (exceptions may be reviewed upon request).
  • Only one check-in and one check-out are allowed per stay. Multiple stays are not permitted.
  • Payment is due monthly in advance. Staggered stays or mid-summer breaks are not accommodated.

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-In:

    • Mon–Thu, 12 PM–5 PM at The Village Hall Office (Thomases Commons).
    • Mon–Sun, 8 PM–12 AM with the RA On-Duty (instructions posted at Village Hall Office).
  • Check-Out: Email village@ramapo.edu to confirm your date/time. Return your temporary ID at check-out; confirmation will be sent by email.
  • Late-night or special check-in/out may be arranged when communicated in advance.
  • All dates are firm; no early arrivals or late stays are permitted.

Policies & Expectations

  • Interns must follow all Ramapo College rules and procedures (see the [Guide to Corporate Intern Housing] and FAQ).
  • Violations may result in fines, dismissal, and notification of the corporate sponsor.
  • Cancellations must be submitted at least two (2) weeks before arrival. Later cancellations may be charged two (2) weeks’ rent.
  • Summer maintenance may cause occasional noise, repairs, or rare relocations.

Summer Maintenance Notice

During the summer, limited campus staffing means construction, repairs, and maintenance may occur near Corporate Intern Housing. Some noise is possible, and in rare cases, interns may need to temporarily relocate. The Office of Residence Life will strive to maintain comfort for all residents.

Corporate Sponsor Details

  • Each intern must have a corporate sponsor (regardless of whether fees are paid by the intern or the company).
  • Sponsors agree to be financially responsible if an intern fails to pay.
  • Sponsors may also be contacted about behavioral concerns, damages, or policy violations.
  • All sponsor communication is conducted via email.
