Amanda Beecher

Ramapo Success Story

“The people at Ramapo make this a great community to work; the faculty, particularly other mathematics faculty, the students, and the staff. I love the supportive environment to bring my love of mathematics to students in many ways both in and out of the classroom. I have held an undergraduate conference, a mathematical play, brought students to talks, conferences, museums, and taught a variety of different mathematics courses. This is only possible with the support given by all the wonderful people that help to make it possible.

Working with students is the best part of my job. I am currently working with my third student on a student research project. Each project is unique and my first two students are currently in graduate programs in Mathematics. It is an excellent way to get to know the students and mentor them into the profession.

I also get to know the executive board members of Math Club as well. They help organize and carry out all the activities of the club. It is a great leadership opportunity for them to bring their love of mathematics to the Ramapo community.”

– Amanda Beecher is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and first joined Ramapo in 2010.
