Center for Social Justice Fellowship Program

Students have the opportunity to apply to work with senior social work faculty fellows during the second or advanced standing year of the MSW program at Ramapo College.

Who is Eligible?

First year MSW students or graduating BSW students entering Ramapo College’s Advanced Standing program

Current Fellowship Opportunities: One competitive fellowship in each topic area

This student fellow will work with Senior Fellow Professor Klein on a scholarship project
that will explore issues that impact the LGBTQ community. The project will use a social
justice lens to explore the effect of stigma and oppression in accessing health and mental
health care, employment, education, and housing, as well as victories that have led to
current policies.

This student fellow will work with Senior Fellow Professor McTighe on a scholarship project
that explores the essential role of personal and communal storytelling in a social justice
approach to policy and practice issues such as trauma, immigration and refugee needs and
concerns, LGBTQ+ issues, criminal justice issues, and racial and ethnic conflict.

This student Fellow will work with Senior Fellow Professor Sarabia on a scholarship project
within the area of substance use.

Interested students must submit a completed application which includes an academic writing sample and a short essay prompt.
