Travel with Ramapo Professors Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by the generosity of participants in Travel with Ramapo Professors trips, and aims to provide Ramapo students the opportunity to take part in a study abroad experience. Previous trips included an excursion to Israel and Jordan, led by Ira Spar, Professor of History and Ancient Studies, and Southern France, led by President Peter P. Mercer and Dr. Jacqueline Ehlert-Mercer.

Professor Emeritus Donald Fucci will lead the next group on a literary tour of Ireland.

2019 Recipient

Madeline Martinez

Madeline Martinez of Freehold, N.J. is a junior Political Science major.  She has a 3.6 GPA and is in the Honors Program.  Madeline has been involved with and serves on the E-Boards for the Visual Artist’ Society, the Chess Club, and the Association of Latinos Moving Ahead.  “Through these activities, I have been actively promoting the importance of diversity on campus and working towards establishing an inclusive and open community.”

Madeline is studying abroad in Seoul, South Korea during the Spring 2019 semester.  Upon graduation, she plans to attend graduate school and hopes to work for non-governmental organizations to increase the access to education for women in developing countries.
