President’s Cabinet Scholarship

The President’s Cabinet is made up of the top leadership of the College. On special occasions members of the group decided to donate to a scholarship fund as a meaningful way to honor a member’s birthday or celebrate a holiday. The President’s Cabinet Scholarship is for outstanding Ramapo College seniors with financial need who plan to continue their education in graduate school. The award can be used toward the recipient’s graduate school application fees or graduate school preparation courses.

  • Scholarship to be used for graduate school application fees or preparation classes
  • Student with financial need preferred
  • 3.00 GPA or higher
  • Recipient selected by the President's Cabinet based on recommendations from the deans of each school

2022 Recipient

Caitlyn Napolitano

Caitlyn Napolitano of Wyckoff, N.J. is an 4+1 accounting MSAC major. She has a 4.0 GPA. She has achieved Dean’s List for every semester at Ramapo.

At Ramapo, Caitlyn has been active in the Alpha Lambda Delta and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Societies, as well as intramural Zumba. She also was a Commuter Student Mentor where she assisted incoming freshman commuter students and made them feel comfortable navigating Ramapo. In addition, Caitlyn participated in an independent study with Provost Becker where she analyzed extreme weather patterns.

Caitlyn has also been involved in off-campus activities, including Kundalini yoga where she performs a variety of yoga poses. She hopes to pursue a master’s degree in accounting at Ramapo College and become a CPA.



2021 Recipient

Noah Mazzeo

Noah Mazzeo of Rumson, N.J. is a Communication Arts major with a concentration in Global Communication and Media. He plans to attend graduate school for Sports Management and pursue a career in the sports industry. 

During his first semester as a transfer student, Noah proudly made the Dean’s List. He has a 3.53 GPA and is a member of Tau Sigma National Honor Society.

Apart from playing in the Pep Band and Concert Band, Noah is the Public Address Announcer for Ramapo College Athletics. He announces starting lineups, game actions, and gameday information for 8 different teams. Noah also completed an internship with the New Jersey Jackals and the University at Albany (SUNY).


2018 Recipient

Lindsey Gray

Lindsey Gray of Dumont, N.J. is an Engineering Physics major with a minor in Mathematics.  She has a 3.63 GPA.  She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Sigma Xi, and the College Honors Program.

At Ramapo, Lindsey helped in the foundation of the Females in STEM Society and now serves as president.  She is also the president of the Engineering Physics Club and secretary of the Bass Fishing Team.

Lindsey has also been involved in tutoring, working at Le Gourmet Factory, and conducting research at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the Department of Homeland Security.



2017 Recipient

Merzeline Nestor

Merzeline Nestor is a dedicated social worker who strives to impact change.  She is a senior with a 3.9 GPA. and is currently interning at child protective services.   Merzeline has an eye for detail, as well as the ability to draw on her own experiences and observations to develop effective and efficient new solutions.  She works well as a team member, and has demonstrated leadership potential.  Her resilience, positivity, self-awareness and compassion set her apart from other students.  She is an enthusiastic learner, energetic, and exceptionally well-organized student.  In addition, Merzeline is involved with two national honor societies: Chi Alpha Epsilon and Phi Alpha Honor Society/Delta Chapter.


2015 Recipient

Jeremy Watson

Jeremy Watson of Paterson, NJ is a music major with concentrations in Music Industry, Voice Performance, and Music Studies. He has a 3.67 grade point average. Jeremy was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, and Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society.

 

At Ramapo, Jeremy has served as the Assistant Student Conductor of the Ramapo Chorale, CantaNova, and Take 12 ensembles. He has also served as President of Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society.

 

Jeremy has also been involved in off-campus activities and organizations, including the New Jersey Choral Society as a chorister and soloist, and serving as President of the Rosa L. Parks, Fine and Performing Arts High School’s Vocal Department Alumni Association of Paterson, NJ.

 


2014 Recipient

Solange Alvarado

Solange A. Alvarado of Paterson, N.J. is an accounting major. She has a 3.7 grade point average. She was inducted to Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, and Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society. She is also a sister of Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority Incorporated.

At Ramapo, Solange has been active in several organizations and activities, including serving as Community Service Chair in her sorority, Co-President of Chi Alpha Epsilon and Treasurer of Omicron Delta Kappa Society.

Solange has also been involved in off –campus activities, she has held two internships and volunteered at the Paterson Habitat for Humanity.



2011 Recipients

Lucille Saraceno

Lucille Saraceno earned an associate in arts degree from Ocean County College before enrolling in Ramapo College. While there, she was a member of the sailing team and Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society. At Ramapo Lucille is majoring in Literature and has a 3.92 grade point average. “She is very focused and is a source of motivation for her classmates,” says Hassan Nejad, dean of the School of American and International Studies. She is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society, the Golden Key International Honor Society and is an intern at an immigration law firm. “This semester I am enrolled in Magazine Workshop,” Lucille reports. “So my fellow classmates and I will compile Ramapo College’s 2011 literary and art magazine, Trillium.” Lucille is from Toms River, NJ and plans to pursue a master’s degree in English.

Being honored with this President’s Cabinet Award will assist me in furthering my plans to attend graduate school to pursue a master’s degree in English.

Brandon Pecoraro

The 2009-2010 recipient of the President’s Cabinet Scholarship was Brandon Pecoraro. Brandon is currently a senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. After graduating from high school, Brandon’s band signed with a record label, performed around the country and successfully released an album nationwide. “From age 16 I was part of management in my own national business which became selfsustaining,” he says. “Once I had attained these achievements, I kept my promise to myself to pursue higher education.” Brandon has earned a 3.94 grade point average. He is from New Milford, NJ.
