Mullen-Gensch, Margaret Choral Music Scholarship

Ms. Mullen-Gensch held positions in finance, product and project management for over 40 years.  After joining the mergers and acquisitions department at W. R. Grace & Co. where she was for 18 years, she worked at Charterhouse Group International in leveraged buyouts during the 80’s.   Margaret then joined AT&T and Lucent Technologies where she worked in finance, product and project management for 16 years.   She briefly worked at Samsung Electronics before her retirement from the corporate world.  She then developed Mullen Associates, consulting to individuals and small business owners.  Margaret earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from Hunter College of the City University of New York and a Master of Science degree in strategic planning from Columbia Graduate School of Business.

Margaret joined the Friends of Ramapo in 2002 serving continuously as a Board director, was past president and is currently programming director. She is a tenured choir member at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Ridgewood and serves on the Board of Midland Park Friends of the Library.

This scholarship has been established by Margaret for a student who participates in a Choral Group at Ramapo  College.

2020 Recipient

Gisselle Carino-Bazan

Gisselle Carino-Bazan of Park Ridge, N.J. is a sophomore Music major with a concentrations in Performance and Education. In addition to holding a 3.59 GPA, Gisselle is a member of the College Honors Program and has earned Dean’s List status in the fall of 2018 and 2019. She is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

At Ramapo, Gisselle is heavily involved in the choral program, including Ramapo Chorale and two of the auditioned ensembles: Skylark and CantaNOVA. Gisselle also serves as the Social Director for Ramapo Chorale. Additionally, Gisselle holds leadership roles as a Peer Facilitator for the Peer Facilitation Program and an Honors Development Group Leader for the College Honors Program.

“I hope to become a high school choir director, combining my passion for teaching and composing music.”
