Kim, Seung-Sup Biochemistry Award

This award honors the memory of Seung-Sup Kim, who passed away in 2017. Dr. Kim was a former professor of Biochemistry in the School of Theoretical and Applied Science and served as a beloved teacher, mentor, colleague and ambassador of the College during his tenure.

The Seung-Sup Kim Award is given to an outstanding biochemistry student and is selected by the biochemistry convening group based on academic excellence and extracurricular activities

2022 Recipient

Michael Sooy

Michael Sooy of Mays Landing, N.J. is a Biochemistry major with a minor in Neuroscience. He has a 3.98 GPA. Michael was the recipient of the Westchester Chemical Society Award and has been on the Dean’s List every semester.

At Ramapo, Michael is a chemistry tutor and treasurer of the PLU Chemical Honor Society. He is also a member of the Ramapo Men’s Swim Team as a distance swimmer and two-year captain.

After graduation, Michael plans to go to graduate school to pursue a degree in Clinical Neuropsychology.
