FYS Class:

Class of: 2026

Major/Minor: Music Production

Resident/Commuter: Commuter

Favorite Class: Recording Arts 2. I got to use the Les Paul Studio to make a three song EP for my final project in the class, and I was taught many mixing & recording techniques. I got to use professional-grade equipment in the studio and console room to produce music, and I gained a lot of knowledge that’ll I’ll be able to effectively use later on in life.

Favorite Place on Campus: H-Wing Lounge. It never fails to be my favorite place on campus, as it’s in the middle of everything. Near classrooms and having computers, it’s beneficial for me to rest here and complete work, as my next class is only a short walk away. And, the seats are orange. Who doesn’t love orange?

Clubs/organizations: Brazilian Latin Percussion Ensemble: I’ve been in this club for two years now, and I could talk for hours about how it’s affected my life, but I’ll keep it short. It’s a club that promotes music and community. As a percussionist, this club is perfect for me, as I get to hit big drums every Monday night. And, with a whole ensemble playing all at once, it’s a unifying sound that shakes me to my core, and I love seeing the end result every semester of our hard work paying off.

Peer Facilitation Program: Being a peer fills me with joy, as I’m able to help new students coming in to Ramapo acclimate and have fun. As I was guided myself by peers as a freshman, I strive to guide new freshman into becoming their best selves and lead productive college lives.

Future Plans: After graduating, I’ll be completing MFA classes to get my Masters.

Advice for First-Year Students: Everything will turn out okay at the end, so you have to keep pushing and facing life’s challenges head-on. Hard work always pays off.
