FYS Class:

Class of: 2028

Major/Minor: Accounting Major (4+1)

Resident/Commuter: Commuter

Favorite Class: Hip Hop & Society with Professor Colman! Prof. Colman has a clear passion for what he teaches and it makes the whole class super engaging. It’s fascinating to learn more about history and society through the scope of hip hop, specifically how the underclass uses music as a means of advocacy and self-empowerment. We also got to watch a live performance from a professional musician as part of a workshop which was a super cool experience!

Favorite Place on Campus: B-225 because it’s where UAA hosts our weekly GBMs! Alternatively, the Honors Lounge because it’s got comfy seating, a cozy atmosphere, and a good printer!

Clubs/organizations: I was United Asian Association’s (UAA) Freshman Representative from Fall 2024-Spring 2025. Starting in Fall 2025, I will be UAA’s Internal Vice President! I will also act as Secretary for Ramapo Girls in Gaming (RGG)!

Future Plans: I would like to have an accounting internship or do a study abroad program in the summer following my Sophomore year! Eventually I hope to graduate with a Masters and pass the CPA exam.

Favorite Inspirational Quote: “It’s just a spark, but it’s enough to keep me going” from Paramore’s Last Hope

Advice for First-Year Students: It’s so important and rewarding to get involved on campus! If you don’t know where to start, just attend a bunch of different club meetings/events at the beginning of the semester and see which ones you vibe with. I love my clubs so much because they’ve helped me discover new interests and make more friends!!
