FYS Class:

Class of: 2026

Major/Minor: Accounting 4+1

Resident/Commuter: Commuter

Favorite Class: My current favorite class is Honors Studies in the Arts and Humanities with Professor Stephen Rice. The discussions held during this class are always so interesting and engaging, and I’ve had a wonderful time exploring our central concepts of utopia and dystopia!

Favorite Place on Campus: My favorite place on campus is the Peter P. Mercer Learning Commons. The Learning Commons offers me a serene space to work on my assignments. The comfortable seats and natural lighting create the perfect working atmosphere!

Clubs/organizations: I am a member of the RCNJ Birding Club! Spending time in nature and getting a breath of fresh air while sighting and identifying birds has become the highlight of my Fridays!

Future Plans: I am currently working towards earning my Bachelor of Science in Accounting. I plan on attaining a Master of Science in Accounting and becoming a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New Jersey.

Favorite Inspirational Quote: A motivational quote that has continually inspired me is: “If you get too worried about what could go wrong, you might miss a chance to do something great.” (Voltron: Legendary Defender, Season 1: Ep. 1) This quote reminds me to not let my anxieties get in the way of trying something new or difficult.

Advice for First-Year Students: A piece of advice I’d like to share with first-year students is that it is never too late to put yourself out there and get involved. I struggled to get involved with clubs during my first semester here at Ramapo. One random day during my second semester, I decided to join the RCNJ Birding Club GroupMe, and attended their meeting! It’s never too late to join in, everyone on campus is super welcoming!
