Grab A Slice of Pizza…Studies

At Ramapo College, we believe learning can start anywhere — even with a slice of pizza.

The Center for Pizza Studies was founded on a simple idea: in a state often considered (though hotly debated…we see you, New York) the pizza capital of the United States, there is no better place to explore the culture, craft, and impact of pizza.

That exploration becomes a shared academic experience — one that brings people together around a subject that is both deeply rooted in New Jersey identity and widely appreciated across campus. As a hub for conversation, curiosity, and community, the Center positions Ramapo at the epicenter of thoughtful (and occasionally delicious) inquiry.

The Center for Pizza Studies is a place where ideas rise (and so does the dough).

Why pizza? Because in New Jersey, it’s more than food — it’s tradition, community, and, occasionally, a spirited debate.
