Student Research 4

Scholars’ Day

Ramapo College Scholars’ Day provides the Ramapo College community with an opportunity to celebrate the  the creative and scholarly achievements of its students. Students who have engaged in a research oriented or creative process under the guidance of a faculty mentor are encouraged to submit a proposal. The selection of posters which will ultimately be presented is competitive, with a limit of just two posters allowed per school program.

During the April 30, 2014 Scholar’s Day, Spanish Language Studies student, Victoria Grey, presented her very own poster in Friends Hall! Her project was titled “‘I feel robbed’: an exploration of the causes of the loss and maintenance of Spanish in Latin American children of the second generation,” and was directed with the help of Associate Professor of Spanish, Natalia Santamaria-Laorden.

Two posters were selected to represent the work from students in Spanish in this year’s scholars’ day, to be held on Wednesday April 27, 2016. Stephanie Manzanares will present “Santeria and Catholicism: A Critical Comparison”. Keri Race will share her work on “The Role of Language in Health Care in the United States: The Defense of Bilingualism”.
