Therapy Animal Visits

with Creature Comfort Pet Therapy

Ramapo College is proud to partner with Creature Comfort Pet Therapy to provide Ramapo College students with therapy animal visits six times a semester through 2026. This partnership is made possible by the Mental Health in Higher Education Grant through the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education.

Creature Comfort Pet Therapy will send two volunteers and two pets per visit. Therapy animals are mostly dogs, but volunteers can also bring cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. The volunteers pass a comprehensive test evaluating their pet’s obedience and temperament, followed by a training visit and mentorship from experienced staff. Ramapo Health Promotion will do their best to inform students which animals are coming before a visit.

Upcoming Visits with Reservation

Reservations will be required for many of the therapy animal visits. Reservations open 7 days prior to the visit.

You can include up to 5 other students to your Therapy Animal appointment. Please indicate their names in the reservation slot on google calendar. Please gather your group and ensure availability before reserving your time slot.

Please arrive at E-216 promptly at your appointment time. Please have all members of your party scan the QR code to check in. Your group will have 15 minutes to interact with the three therapy animals.

• Thursday, 2/8 1 pm to 3pm in the Wellness Room (E-216)
• Tuesday, 2/20 1 pm to 3 pm in the Wellness Room (E-216)
• Tuesday, 3/5 from 1 pm to 3pm in the Wellness Room (E-216)
• Wednesday, 4/3 from 1 pm to 3pm in the Wellness Room (E-216)
• Tuesday, 4/16 from 1 pm to 3 pm in the Wellness Room (E-216)

Couldn’t Get an Appointment?

Please check the calendar throughout the day of the visit for any last minute cancellations. Some student groups will allow others to join in their reservation if it is less than the 6 people size limit. You can come by the room to see if there are any no-shows or groups that will have you join their reservation. We cannot guarantee all students time in the room who do not have a reservation.
