Weekend Edition 10/30-11/2

Thursday, October 30th at 8am, tickets will go on sale for Kinky Boots at Roadrunner Central! Don’t miss this Broadway hit that’s sure to have you on your feet! The trip will take place Thursday, November 20th, and the bus will leave campus at 4:00 pm for a 7:30 pm show. The first ticket will cost $45, and the second will cost $55. As always, the ticket price includes round trip transportation. Buy yours before they sell out! At 7 pm in Friends Hall, all are invited to attend the Latino Heritage Month Closing Banquet.  There will be food, drinks, and music to celebrate the end of a month that featured wonderful cultural events and discussions all around campus. So make sure to stop by and take part in the celebration! Later at 10 pm, head back to Friends Hall for the After Dark program Gender Bender Costume Ball. Step outside the gender box and on to the dance floor! The DJ will spin electro, hip-hop, house, and 90s throwbacks. Bring your bowties, high heels, mustaches, glitter, suspenders, fishnets, or fedoras- dress to impress however your heart desires! And there will be a photo booth, so make sure to get pictures. Food and drinks will be served, and there will be prize raffles going on throughout the evening. Ramapo Pride, G.E.A.R. and the United Cultural Greek Council have come together for this After Dark event, sponsored by Health and Counseling Services. Don’t miss out!

Ready for a spook-tacular Halloween event? Friday, October 31st at 10pm, the College Programming Board will be holding their annual Murder Mystery in Friends Hall! Come by with friends to enjoy a delicious sit-down dinner, and when you least expect it the murder mystery will begin. Alongside real actors from the Murder Mystery Company, students will team up to find out who the murderer is and solve the mystery! Halloween costumes are not required, but are certainly welcomed!

Saturday, November 1st the Civic and Community Engagement Center will be hosting their weekly trip to Teaneck, NJ at 9:30 a.m. for tutoring! They will be focusing on subjects such as Math, Language Arts, Social Studies and Arts & Crafts. No experience in tutoring is necessary. This project is great for students seeking CEC credit and for those in the process of receiving their teaching certification! That afternoon, stop by the Bradley Center at 2 pm to cheer on the Men and Women’s Swimming teams as they compete against the College of Staten Island. Go Roadrunners! And finally, head over to H-wing auditorium at 10 pm for the College Programming Board’s screening of the biggest movie of the year: Guardians of the Galaxy! If your missed this summer blockbuster, here’s your chance to enjoy the movie with friends on our big-screen projector. The movie will have you rolling on the floor laughing and cheering for the heroes!
