Dr. Leslie Perez (Pronouns: she/her/ella) holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Seton Hall University (SHU). She also received a combined master’s degree in Professional Counseling and Education Specialist from SHU. Dr. Perez went on to receive her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Saint Elizabeth University.
Dr. Perez is a NJ Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with almost a decade of experience working as a mental health practitioner. She previously completed her pre-doctoral externship and internship at Seton Hall University’s counseling center. She has also worked as an intern at the counseling center at Bloomfield College. She has also worked as a Psychiatric Clinician in an outpatient program at CarePoint Health, in which she exclusively worked with marginalized populations involved with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
Dr. Perez’s clinical expertise includes integrating several evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, psychodynamic, IFS, and interpersonal theoretical orientations. She has worked with individuals across the lifespan and thoroughly enjoys her work with college students. Her professional interests include grief/loss treatment in college mental health, and her research focused on the relevance of hope in the lives of first-generation Latinx college students.
