Undergraduate Commencement Student Speaker

Ramapo College is pleased to announce Paolo Miyashiro Bedoya as the 2023 Undergraduate Commencement Student Speaker.

Paolo Miyashiro Bedoya is a proud first-generation Management major with a minor in Marketing, graduating summa cum laude from the College Honors Program. For the past two years, he worked as a Social Media Student Assistant for the Office of Marketing and Communications, sharing the stories of his fellow Roadrunners.

Throughout his time at Ramapo, Paolo has used his voice to amplify the voices of others, especially those from underrepresented communities. His time as President of the Student Government Association taught him what it means to be an empathetic leader and a true advocate. He also was a member of the College Programming Board and the Peer Facilitation and Ramapo Admissions Student Ambassador programs.

Paolo will continue his academic career at Rutgers University-New Brunswick as he pursues his Ed.M. in College Student Affairs and will work as the Graduate Program Coordinator in the Office of Social Justice Education & LGBT Communities. He hopes to continue being an advocate and mentor for marginalized students. He is grateful to his family, friends, and loved ones for supporting him at every step of his journey. Paolo is honored to represent the Class of 2023 as the Undergraduate Commencement Speaker, a fitting capstone to his RCNJ career.
