The MASE 4+1 option requirements consist of both coursework, distinct course-aligned clinical experiences and a full-year clinical practice internship in a variety of both inclusive and special education school settings. Required courses and clinical internships may be taken during the traditional fall and spring semesters, summer sessions I and II, and winter session and online see Academic Calendars.
Students who enroll in the MASE 4+1 option complete all of the required undergraduate and graduate coursework and clinical internship during just five years. This can occur because students are able to complete three (3) graduate-level courses during years 3 and 4 of their undergraduate (BS in Elementary Education) experience, which means 12 credits are double-counted toward both degrees. The table below provides further details.
