Professor Rachel Budin has organized for students to visit the Bodys Isek Kingelez: City Dreams exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art. This is an exhibit on design and model making. The artist is Bodys Isek Kingelez or Jean Baptiste, a sculptor and artist from the Democratic republic of Congo known for his models of fantastic cities, made of cardboard, paper, tape and other commonplace materials. The use of found materials in model making has direct applications to both set design and costume construction. The overall principles of design, use of color, texture and composition are part of the curriculum in Basic Lighting and Set Design.
