Master percussionist, composer and education, Billy Martin (of Medeski, Martin, and Wood; the Lounge Lizards) will conduct a rare master class for students of recording arts 2. He will demonstrate techniques for recording percussion, discuss African and Afro-Brazilian rhythmic theory, improvisation and music production technique, and his experiences in the music business as a touring musician. He will also talk about the profound influence the pedagogy of the Woodstock, NY based “Creative Music Studio” has had on his music.
