Ramapo Success Story

“Despite being an international student with no immediate relatives in the United States, I’ve never felt deprived of a ‘family’ at Ramapo. For example, when the devastating earthquake hit my country, Nepal, the entire school came forward to help those of us who were suffering from the trauma. Another example is the guidance of  Professor Scott Frees. I remember when he helped me write my first line of computer code. Thanks to his mentoring and the Computer Science program, I have had internship offers from some of America’s leading companies and my hypothesis and research projects have garnered interest from faculty and professionals in the field at various national and regional conferences. I can’t express how grateful I am for everything Ramapo has done for me!” – Vivek Pandey ’17 graduated with a degree in Computer Science. Vivek was a recipient of a Presidential Scholarship, and he won the title of Best App built using Intel Mashery at HackRU, New Jersey’s biggest Hackathon event, for an application that makes movie recommendations based on users’ musical interests. While at Ramapo, Vivek was a Worldship Software QA automation team intern at United Parcel Service (UPS).
