Vincent T. Marchese

Ramapo Success Story

“Although the College was new when I started, the experience I had was priceless. I was taught and mentored by some of the best faculty in the country. My experience was life-enriching and rewarding. My memories of my days on campus will remain forever with me. Ramapo College has become one of the top colleges in the country. As an educator I am always recommending my students to enroll.” – Vincent T. Marchese ’75 graduated with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in Sociology. Vincent is a Social Studies teacher at the Paterson Public Schools. A professional photographer whose work has been featured in major magazines and displayed in galleries and museums, Vincent’s photograph of the Great Falls in Paterson, N.J., has been designated the official image of the Great Falls National Park. Vincent also is a National History Day Mentor and encourages students to participate in the National History Day Contest by helping students choose historical topics which they research through libraries, archives, museums, oral history interviews and historic sites. Mentors review and offer constructive criticism of student presentations that take the form of original papers, websites, exhibits, performances and documentaries that are considered for competitions in the spring at local, state and national levels. The program culminates in the Kenneth E. Behring National Contest each June held at the University of Maryland at College Park, near Washington, D.C.
