Ramapo Success Story

“When it comes to exploration, there are no boundaries at Ramapo. The bulk of your first 16 to 32 credits are fulfilled by general education classes so you can sample different subjects to find out what fits you, which will ultimately help you choose a major/profession. The same goes for business students as we have to take classes of different facets, including accounting, management, finance and marketing, to be exposed to information that is not necessarily major specific. Every organization I’ve been a part of, whether it was Alpha Kappa Psi or Peer Facilitation, was composed of students of different ethnicities, race, background, major, year, etc. Ultimately, such an environment allows students to explore and gain experiences in areas that are either outside of their comfort zone or unfamiliar to them. I was able to diversify my knowledge and skills at Ramapo College thanks to the people with whom I’ve worked, interacted and bonded. After graduation, I presented myself as more than just a marketing major; I learned how to be a mentor as a peer facilitator and how to cater to the needs of people of different backgrounds as a peer advisor. There are so many organizations, clubs and on-campus jobs where you can gain valuable life skills that you can apply in your daily and professional lives. You just have to be willing to take the first step.” – Kevin (Han Seul) Yoo ’16 graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration Marketing and a minor in International Business.
