When I was twelve years old, I picked up a pen and wrote my first poem about the fragility of life. I still remember the epiphany I had that day, realizing the joy I found in creating something, paying attention to word choice, pouring out my emotion and perspective on a piece of paper. From then on, I knew that Literature and Creative Writing were my passions. The hard part was figuring out how to make money while doing something that I loved.

I decided I wanted to be an English Teacher. I set out to earn my degree in Literature with the Secondary Teacher Certification. Shortly before my student teaching, two things happened: New Jersey cut their educational budget and I realized that I didn’t want to spend everyday with teenagers. Plan B became Plan A and I tried my hand in Publishing. Now, after holding many painfully annoying jobs, I work in Editorial for Literature and Creative Writing Textbooks. I live with my girlfriend and dog Blu (no -e) in Brooklyn and work in the Flatiron district of Manhattan, which provides ample creative stimulation.

My creative side never rests. My evenings are always filled with freelance writing projects, my own creative writing projects (no more poetry for me), or working on computer graphics and digital publishing solutions. That’s the end of Chapter 2… In Chapter 3, I take over the world. Over and out.
