Jessica Miller

Ramapo Success Story

“Salaam! During the summer of 2016, I studied abroad with ISA, in Meknes, Morocco. During my time in Morocco, I went on a variety of excursions with ISA, where I was able to experience the beautifully diverse landscape, language, and cuisine of Morocco. Through the various excursions to Tangier, the Mediterranean, the Western Sahara, and the Roman Ruins, in Volubilis, I was able to explore what comprises Morocco’s rich history. While in Morocco, I had the opportunity to take Arabic and increase my language skills. Through interaction with Moroccan society, I was also able to gain knowledge of Moroccan Arabic, or Darija , French, and Spanish. My study abroad experience made the theories and concepts learned in the classroom concrete and showed me I was on the right path professionally and personally. I believe everyone should have the chance to experience another culture. I am looking forward to sharing my experience with all of you and how fulfilling the study abroad experience can be.” – Jessica Miller ’17 graduated with a Bachelor of Arts as an International Studies and Liberal Studies double major. Before transferring to Ramapo, she was the President of the Environmental Club at Rockland Community College. At Ramapo, Jessica was a member of the Model UN club, a Student Aide at the Roukema Center of International Education, and a Global Roadrunner.
