Gabrielle Quinones

Ramapo Success Story

“Ramapo’s MSW program has allowed me to fulfill my life goal of giving back to the community and making a difference in other’s lives. With the MSW program I was able to go Africa for two weeks in May 2016 and network with social workers in a third world country. One of my most memorable memories of that trip was going to the Kumasi Street Children’s Project, which is a Catholic Charity organization in Africa. They provide assistance to displaced children and families. I absolutely loved spending time with the children as well the staff there. The experience really opened my eyes and reminded me of why I love the field of social work. It truly has been a ‘dream come true.’ I never thought I would be able to get my Master’s, but with the help of the faculty and staff I am doing it!” – Gabrielle Quinones ’17 earned her Master’s in Social Work at Ramapo and completed her bachelor’s in Family Child Studies with a concentration in Family Services in 2012 from Montclair State University. Gabrielle has earned a Child Advocacy Certificate, is part of Phi Alpha Honor Society and traveled to Ghana, Africa, while at Ramapo.
