Success Stories

Claudia Ribeiro

Studying abroad really opened my eyes to different possibilities when it came to education and career choice after graduation. It made me realize that I was able to move out of my comfort zone and into a new environment. My experience in Portugal gave me a taste of the future I always wanted but also left a void – which led me to looking into master programs in Europe after graduating from Ramapo.

While on campus, I became a member of Theta Phi Alpha as the Fall New Member Educator. I was a peer facilitator for two years, an Orientation Leader for the summer of 2018, and part of the Leaders in Service my freshman year. These experiences allowed me to meet wonderful friends who have supported me to follow my dreams and be the best that I can be.

Some of my favorite classes were Astronomy with Ron Russo and Tracey Bender’s peer facilitation class. Here I saw my imagination and curiosity blossom as well as my social skills. I had a lot of fun in these classes but they also allowed my imagination and curiosity blossom. The professors cared about the subject but cared about the students too, which made Ramapo feel like a home away from home for me.” – Claudia Ribeiro ’21 graduated with a Bachelor’s in International Business with a Concentration in European Studies and Marketing. While at Ramapo, Claudia was a member of Theta Phi Alpha as a New Member Educator (Fall 2020), a Peer Facilitator, an Orientation Leader (2018) and participated in Leaders in Service.
