Ashley Beaton

Ramapo Success Story

“My experience at Ramapo played a huge role in shaping the person I am today. Having the opportunity to earn my B.A. in Psychology, while also earning my Elementary Education certification, made me realize that working in mental health counseling with children was where I belonged. The course I took in Advanced Topics in Psychology, “Child Abuse and Neglect,” was a deciding factor in my choice to attend graduate school to earn a counseling degree. And studying abroad in Ireland helped me to build my independence and learn how to live outside my comfort zone.” – Ashley Beaton ’13 graduated with a degree in Psychology and minors in Literature and Elementary Education. While at Ramapo, Ashley was awarded a Presidential Scholarship. She studied abroad through Arcadia University’s summer program at the University of Limerick. She received her M.S. in Counseling Mental Health Services in 2014 and her M.Phil in Professional Counseling in 2015, both from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Ashley is currently a therapist at Robins’ Nest, Inc.
