William Manzo

Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ramapo College in 2000 with a BA in Literature and with my Secondary Ed Certification; I am in my 14th year of teaching English and Public Speaking at Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes, NJ. I have taught every grade level and grouping that we offer, but my constant has been AP Language and Composition.  I have been serving as faculty advisor to our school literary and art magazine, Serendipity, for all fourteen years and I am in my eighth year as Head Coach of boys and girls Track and Field. I am exceedingly lucky to have the latitude I do to teach what I want and the way I want to, and I owe a lot of that to the literature background gained in my college years. Some might think it difficult to balance teaching, advising, and coaching, but I find that the coaching and advising help to balance my day quite a bit.  We’ve enjoyed quite a bit of success the past few years in track and field and are currently back-to-back county, section, and state champions and I have been named Bergen County, North Jersey, and State Coach of the Year.  I have been married since 2008 and my wife Corrin—also an English teacher and coach at Ramapo—and I welcomed our daughter, Anna Grace, this past September.  Not to be cliché’, but life is good!
