Alec Mcalarnen

I have been accepted as a 2014 Teach For America Corps Member, and have been assigned to teach elementary school in Mississippi.  Teach For America is a growing movement of leaders who work to ensure that students growing up in poverty receive an excellent education.  Each Corps Member signs on for a two year commitment and completes a rigorous training process over the summer.  After taking Ramapo College’s Student Literacy Corps class, I was inspired to work in a low income school environment and Teach For America’s goals and mission are beliefs that I hold dear to my heart.  I look forward to working with the youth in the Mississippi River Delta.
