Matthew Cicitta

“When I first decided to become a mathematics major, I had serious doubts. Despite acing Calculus I in high school, the CLEP placement test from Ramapo told me that I needed to start in Pre-Calculus, two levels behind what I expected. To top it all off, other math majors were starting college with AP Calculus credits and were already taking Calc II. Regardless, I studied hard to earn As in Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, and Calculus II. Since then, I’ve tutored students in all of these subjects for TAS for the past two years. In addition, I have been teaching mathematics lessons to incoming EOF freshmen for three years. With my cumulative GPA a 4.0, I was elected President of Pi Mu Epsilon, the mathematics honor society. Despite my slow start, I still managed to make it as a mathematics student at Ramapo College.” – Matthew Cicitta ’16 graduated with a degree in Mathematics and a Teacher Education Certification.
