“My time at Ramapo College has been a period that has undoubtedly shaped my academic and personal growth in profound ways. As a rising senior, I can confidently say that my time here has been nothing short of remarkable.

One of the most rewarding decisions I made was to double major in Music Industry and Global Communication & Media. This choice allowed me to explore two fields of study that resonate deeply with my passions. The unwavering support of the faculty and the comprehensive academic resources available made this dual major journey not only feasible but also enriching. Navigating through the challenges of managing two majors was made easier by the personalized guidance and mentorship I received from my professors and advisors, especially Dr. Chris Reali and Dr. Satarupa Dasgupta, who genuinely care about my success and have been there every step of the way. Their dedication to me and my development extends beyond the classroom and made my time at Ramapo beyond valuable.

The highlight of my college experience was undoubtedly my study abroad opportunity. During the summer after completing my junior year, I studied abroad in London, England at the University of the Arts London. Ramapo’s commitment to global education opened doors to a transformative adventure that expanded my horizons beyond imagination. Living and studying in a different country exposed me to new perspectives, cultures, and ways of thinking. It was during this time that I truly grasped the interconnectedness of the world and honed my independence. The memories and friendships I formed while abroad are cherished treasures that continue to and always will shape my worldview.

Ramapo College’s vibrant campus life and extracurricular activities added another layer of richness to my journey. Coming into college, I was extremely shy and not one to take on leadership roles, but Ramapo’s many organizations pushed me to take that step and grow into the person I am now. I am the current Vice President of the Women in Business club and the President of Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society.

As the prior Secretary and current Vice President of Women in Business, I have the privilege of working alongside a passionate group of women dedicated to promoting gender equality in the workplace and empowering future business leaders. Through workshops, events, and networking opportunities, we cultivate a community that inspires confidence and ambition and I’m so grateful to be a part of this group.

Being the former Vice President and current President of the Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society is an equally enriching experience. This position allows me to lead a group of talented communication scholars, and organize engaging events and discussions that celebrate academic excellence. This role enables me to not only further develop my leadership skills but also to inspire fellow students.

As I enter my senior year and reflect on my time at Ramapo, I am so grateful for the invaluable experiences that have empowered me to embrace challenges with confidence, think critically, and approach the world with an open heart. The holistic education I received, the friendships I forged, and the memories I created will always stay with me.” – Amanda DiMontova ’24 is a double major in Music Industry and Global Communications & Media with a minor in Digital Filmmaking.
