“Being a Law and Society Major at Ramapo has helped my career and personal growth. The program offers the unique opportunity to have a 1-1 connection with the faculty and students. The program has helped me think critically and understand how the law is connected to society. Some of my favorite and most challenging courses were Legal Research and Field Work Studies. Both courses helped me with intense research on micro and macro levels. Aside from the major, I have met my closest friends that share similar aspirations. I have had the opportunity to develop my resume and join many extracurricular activities that have helped me obtain internships. My recent internship is being a Data Analyst for the legal department at New Jersey Transit.” – Aime Lara ’24 is a Law & Society major with double minors in Human Rights & Genocides and in Marketing. She has made the Dean’s List every semester and was awarded the American Federation of Teachers Hank Frundt Memorial Scholarship.

Aime is involved on campus as the President of Phi Alpha Delta, a resident assistant with the Office of Residence Life and was the Senate Vice President for the Student Government Association for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Off campus, Aime interned at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) for the Central American Minors (CAM) Program and is now with the New Jersey Transit (NJT) as a Data Analyst for the legal department.
