Ryan Greff

“A notable quote in life is ‘never stop learning because life never stops teaching.’ Each professor that ever educated me, each project that I ever completed, each lecture that I ever attended, and each organization that I ever been a member of at Ramapo has contributed to my learning. Ramapo College taught me a lot, but above all else, Ramapo College has taught me that to truly be successful, one can never stop being a student and learning.

During the spring of 2020, I was appointed by the Regional Director of the Small Business Development Center at Ramapo College to the position of chairman of the center’s Economic Recovery Task Force Initiative. In that role, I led the creation of eight economic recovery task forces in which small businesses throughout the region have been the recipients of specialized business management counseling which has helped them navigate through challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In recognition for my service as Chairman of a federally-funded Economic Recovery Task Force Initiative, the Irish Echo Newspaper selected me for a 40 Under 40 Award. The Irish Echo Top 40 Under 40 Awards is a celebration of Irish and Irish-Americans who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields of work before reaching the age of forty. The Top 40 Under 40 Awards aims to spotlight the up-and-coming leaders of Irish America from around the nation who work in a variety of fields and occupations. The Irish Echo is the largest Irish-American newspaper in America and the award was presented at a special ceremony where the Irish Ambassador to the United States delivered remarks.

I have also been awarded the Congressional Award Gold Medal, established by the United States Congress in 1979 to ‘recognize initiative, service, and achievement in young people.’ It is the nation’s highest honor for youth. Earning the award led November 27, 2019 to be proclaimed ‘Ryan Greff Day’ within the Borough of Fair Lawn.

While at Ramapo College, I was inducted into the New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Association Honor Society, which recognizes the top 1% of business school students at their respective collegiate institutions.
