Success Story Ramapo

“Advocating for students with disabilities and fairness in special education is a passion of mine. When I made the career switch in my 40s from business to education, I knew I wanted to pursue a master’s degree. In spring 2020, I achieved that goal by earning my Master’s in Special Education at Ramapo College. The two years I spent with my cohort was an extraordinary experience that pleasantly surprised me with a sense of family and togetherness I never expected in an academic program. Thanks to the professors, the guest speakers and of course my fellow classmates, the journey was an exciting and enlightening experience.” – Lori Militello ’20 graduated with her Master of Arts in Special Education (MASE); she earned her bachelor’s in Business Finance and had a minor in Psychology at Lehigh University. Her thesis explored the relationship between the awareness of learning style and self-efficacy in classified students. She is a special educator at Ramsey Middle School in Ramsey, N.J.
