Ramapo Success Story

“My experiences at Ramapo were great. I transferred from a larger school to Ramapo College during the second semester of freshman year. I knew that I was always meant to go to a smaller school. Ramapo had everything I wanted—excellent professors and an amazing social work program. I earned my BSW in 2017 and was accepted into the Social Work Advanced Standing Program. I began my master’s degree program a week after receiving my BSW and graduated with my MSW in 2018. Time flew! I had the opportunity to study the decriminalization of drugs in Portugal and I was accepted into the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society. My focus during both my undergraduate and graduate degrees was forensic social work. I had amazing internship opportunities and I turned my passion for helping others into a rewarding career as a forensic crisis clinician. My professors were so personable and taught me a lot! I miss my professors! Shout out to Professors McTigue, Cort and Lorber. A year later, I moved to Colorado and earned my dream job as a social worker in a Colorado Jail. If it weren’t for the immense support from my professors at Ramapo, I wouldn’t be where I am today.” – Leah Mass ’17 ’18 graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor degree in Social Work, a minor in Criminology and a Master of Social Work.
