Joseph Sammartino

“My professors were instrumental to my success at Ramapo College. I completed a double major in philosophy and psychology, as well as a study abroad, in my time there. Being at Ramapo taught me how to overcome adversity, and gave me the opportunity to reach down deep within myself to rise to many occasions. My study abroad experience in New Zealand was tranquility, sanctuary, and a pilgrimage for me. I have developed not only wisdom, but lasting friendships and community at Ramapo College.” – Joseph Sammartino ’19 graduated with degrees in Philosophy and Psychology. While at Ramapo, he earned an academic award for Philosophy, participated in research for an independent study revolving around the subjects of reality and knowledge, and re-chartered the Philosophy Club, of which he also served as president. Joseph also studied abroad in Auckland, New Zealand during the Fall 2016 Semester. He is currently a Residential Counselor at Summer House, a 24/7 mental illness group home for adults in Paramus, N.J. Joseph says, “I came from a single mom household. Anything is possible!”
