Thalia Holst

Ramapo Success Story

“Studying abroad changed the trajectory of my life forever. I not only discovered my passion within the field I was already pursuing, but I also had an opportunity to discover different aspects of myself I never knew existed. I encourage everyone to try to study abroad at least once during their educational career; I’ve never met a single person who regretted it.

Studying abroad in India gave me a unique opportunity to learn about a culture and history so entirely different from that of the United States. I was also able to speak with professionals in fields similar to the ones I’m most interested in and to learn how they operate in other areas of the world. My own ambitions were reignited, and I realized that, in a professional sense, I’m far less geographically limited than I previously believed. During my time in India, I was even able to identify a legal organization I have considered pursuing an internship with upon graduation. This and other opportunities and programs are available to everyone in the Roukema Center in ASB123. ” – Thalia Holst ’19 is a Law and Society and International Business double-major. While at Ramapo, Thalia is involved in Alpha Omicron Pi, Phi Alpha Delta, Professional Fraternity Council, and the Student Government Association.
