Megan Quinlan

Ramapo Success Story

“Ever since freshmen orientation at Ramapo in 2015, I knew I wanted to study abroad during my college career. In the summer of 2017, I interned abroad at Deloitte in Dublin, Ireland while also taking two classes at the University College of Dublin. This program gave me the best of both worlds because I was able to learn about Ireland’s business environment while also being able to experience it on my own at a “Big Four” accounting firm. As an audit intern for the Financial Services department at Deloitte, I learned a tremendous amount, made new Irish friends, and networked with partners and senior managers within the firm. I fell in love with the culture of Dublin as well as the work environment. This internship made me realize that one day I would like to work abroad again for a few years. Throughout my eight-week program, I travelled to Italy, Amsterdam, and all around Ireland/Northern Ireland including the Cliffs of Moher, Cork, Galway, the Aran Islands, Killarney and Belfast. I got the opportunity to travel to all these places with people who were strangers in the beginning of my program but have evolved into wonderful friends. This experience helped me find a new love for adventure and an appreciation for different cultures. I decided to become a Global Roadrunner to encourage students to go outside their comfort zones, travel to new places and have the experience of a lifetime.” – Megan Quinlan ’19 graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting.
