Eileen Klein

“One of the most rewarding aspects of my position here at Ramapo College is being a student mentor. Currently I am mentoring EOF students and am an international mentor for the Network of Social Work management for new social workers entering the field. When I was convener of the BSW program, I advised students preparing to become social work majors and helped facilitate the transfer process from local community colleges with updated articulation agreements. Each year, I take students in my Contemporary Social Welfare Policy class to the annual BSW Social Work Policy symposium, where they research a current topic on Social justice and present posters. I also have organized a campus-wide event which featured the screening of “Prison Kids” and a discussion of solitary confinement and its negative impact on inmates.”

– Eileen Klein is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and she joined Ramapo in September 2011. She was the convener of the BSW program and was instrumental in the College’s reaccreditation program. Prior to coming to Ramapo, she worked in the public mental health sector as a social worker and hospital administrator where she supervised social work students in their field placement in outpatient psychiatric clinics.
