Gretchen Kaser

Ramapo Success Story

“I transferred to Ramapo in 2007 and discovered that Ramapo’s small classes and ample opportunities to get involved on campus helped me become a more effective leader and communicator, ensuring me success in both graduate school and in my career. Through my coursework in both the literature and political science departments, I developed strong critical thinking, research and writing skills that set me apart from other candidates in my job search.

After working in the legal field for a year, I started graduate school to earn my master’s in library and information science. Although library science was not my career goal while at Ramapo, my classes’ blend of theoretical and practical work prepared me for the projects I encounter on a daily basis. The success I’ve had so far in my career is owed very much to my classes, professors and extracurricular activities at Ramapo.” – Gretchen Kaser ’10 graduated with a degree in Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Political Science. While at Ramapo, she received the following awards: 2010 Outstanding Literature Major, 2010 Lee Sennish Award, 2010 Ernest Simon Award, and made the 2007-2010 Dean’s Lists. She was also a member of Sigma Tau Delta (President 2009-10), Pi Sigma Alpha, and Golden Key. Gretchen is now the Director of Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library.
