Dan Loughrey

Ramapo Success Story

“I studied abroad the summer of 2011 in an intensive Chinese language program at Peking University in Beijing, China. Not only did I learn a great deal of Mandarin in my time abroad, but I grew to be a lot more adaptable/quick on my feet after a mishap on a (wrong) subway line. My study abroad experience showed me that I can adapt to tough situations on the fly and that an open-minded mindset can help someone enjoy their experience abroad that much more.” – Dan Loughrey ’12 graduated with a degree in International Studies, minors in East Asian Studies and Anthropology, and a Business Essentials Certification. He earned his MA in International Education from the School for International Training in 2015. Dan has also traveled to South Africa, Costa Rica, Belize, Ecuador and Eastern Europe, and looks forward to future trips to Australia and western China. He is currently a study abroad advisor focusing on short-term programs at the Center for Global Education at Rutgers.
