Ramapo Success Stories

“I attribute my hard work ethic and excellent communication skills to my professors at Ramapo. When I didn’t understand something or if I had a hard time presenting my point, they were always there to offer advice and push me to do better. Ramapo helped me narrow down my field of choice without limiting me to one area of focus in history. I received a well-rounded humanities education that I was able to pepper with programming and project management skills that I now use daily. Without these skills, I would not stand out in my field and be offered the opportunities I have now.
I also appreciate that I can still keep in touch with my professors, knowing they always have encouraging words to offer. I am not sure where my career may take me as the publishing industry continues to change, but I know that my Ramapo education is what prepared me to tackle any challenge.” – Maria Kheyman ’12 graduated magna cum laude with a degree in History and is currently an editorial program assistant at John Wiley & Sons. While at Ramapo, Maria completed research doing primary source transcription with Roark Atkinson.
