James Pascal

James Pascal of Passaic, N.J. is an International Studies and Political Science double major with a double minor in Anthropology and Public Policy. He has a 3.79 GPA, and he is an Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Scholar.

At Ramapo, he has been active in several organizations, such as the Student Government Association, where he is the Secretary of Governmental Affair, Project ARCH, holding the position of Treasurer, and Sigma Iota Rho, where holds the title of President.

James helped establish Project ARCH with other peers, which is a club focused on youth civic engagement. He is also a member of the HESAA Student Advisory Committee which strives to represent a student’s perspective in the HESAA Board. He also serves and has served in a series of campus committees and groups such as the Campus Health and Safety Committee.

After graduating, James aims to work in government or in international affairs.

Daynah Stockwell

Daynah Stockwell of Closter, N.J. is a senior Communication Arts major with a concentration in Digital Filmmaking. She has a 3.988 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester.

At Ramapo, she is active in several organizations including serving as the President of RCTV (Ramapo College Television) and as a Peer Consultant at the Center for Reading and Writing (CRW) in the Learning Commons. With RCTV, Daynah organizes fun meetings with her executive board members with events ranging from film/tv trivia, film challenges, and filming skits written by club members. At the CRW, she helps students further their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills to help them succeed in higher education.

After graduation, Daynah’s dream is to get a job in the television field, either with NBC or Sports New York, and leave her mark in the film or television sector.

Ahmed Bin Rizwan

“Being at Ramapo, a college which I hope will stay in my family for generations to come, has been an amazing experience,” says Mahwah resident Ahmed Bin Rizwan. A dean’s list scholar, Ahmed strives to remain on the list and recently earned a 3.7 GPA. “I will always hold myself to the highest standards so that I am the best version of myself, and make sure that I do everything in my power to change the world with the education that I receive.”

Ahmed is an active member of the Muslim Student Association and works on campus as a barista. He is a Information Technology Management major.  

Jillian Carbine

Jillian Carbine of Fair Lawn, N.J. is a Social Work major and Psychology minor. She is a junior and has been on the Dean’s List for the entirety of her college career so far. Jillian has a 3.8 GPA.

At Ramapo, she has been active in the Ramapo College Honors program. Jillian has also been involved in off –campus activities, working part-time as a service receptionist for a Subaru retailer.

In the future, Jillian hopes to become a therapist and work to help people with substance use disorders and eating disorders navigate a path towards recovery.

Sarah Spivak

Sarah Spivak of Paramus, N.J. is a Law & Society major. She has a 3.3 GPA.  She is the daughter of a Ramapo alum (her father graduated in the early 90s) and first generation to a Haitian-born mother.

She interns at Ciambrone Law, a real estate law firm.

She is a member of Phi Alpha Delta, Ramapo’s pre-law fraternity. After she graduates she plans to attend law school and become a prosecutor to fight for victims and improve her community.

“I have been doing community service for as long as I can remember. My father was a member and eventually president of the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club, and I would tag along to volunteer in the activities from cleaning a river to fundraisers.”

Amy Jaglowski

“As a health care professional and advocate for social change, I will work to help achieve health equity, eliminate health disparities, and volunteer in underserved communities,” says Nursing major Amy Jaglowski. Upon graduation, she plans to earn an MSN and achieve her lifelong dream of being a Nurse Practitioner.

The Dunellen, N.J. resident has been involved with Ramapo Readers, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society, S.A.I.L., the Nursing Student Organization and as a Peer Mentor.

During the summer, Amy is the head counselor at a youth theater camp, working as a teacher and stage manager. As a lifelong Girl Scout and Gold award recipient, she continues to play an active role in the scouting program and make a positive difference in the world by volunteering and mentoring others.
