Blauer, David Memorial Scholarship

David Blauer was a Ramapo student majoring in Law and Society who died in a car accident a week before graduation on May 14, 1994. A graduate of Paramus High School, David was a dedicated student at Ramapo, earning an overall grade point average of 3.38 and 3.63 in his major. In his sophomore year, David worked between 40 and 50 hours a week and still made the Dean’s List. That year, his advisor noted in his folder “Wow!” and that David intended to study criminal law. David had been accepted to Villanova University Law School as well as others.  In the summer of 1995, David’s parents, Marilyn and Martin Blauer established this annual award in their son’s memory, which benefits a third- or fourth-year student majoring in Law and Society who demonstrates “outstanding scholarship and need.” Mrs. Blauer was a supervisor in the Bergen County Department of Health Services Health Counseling Center.
