Joshua Maturo

FYS Class:

Class of: 2028

Major/Minor: Biology

Resident/Commuter: Commuter

Favorite Class: Biology, because it’s not a lot of calculations, and is just facts to remember which I’m good at. Also, it explains in depth a lot of aspects of life that you normally wouldn’t get which I find cool.

Favorite Place on Campus: George T. Potter Library because the view from the windows is a 10/10, and it’s a nice place to study. There is so many spots that you don’t even feel like your studying in the same place when you move around.

Clubs/organizations: ILIS (leaders in service), this club allowed me a lot of volunteering opportunities, and brought me to historical places to learn which I found really fun and engaging.
Big brother big sister- this program made you a mentor for a young kid in paterson that you would meet with every other week. I just found it to be another support system for a kid, and be that role model in their life.

Future Plans: I want to internship with an optometrist, because I would like to become one. In near future (this summer), I hope to become a waiter at a bar I’ve been working at for two years now. Cool fact about that job is Dave Portnoy came and rated our pizzas and gave us an 8.2. Next summer I want to do a volunteer program with mevo. I hope to also join SGA next year which would be my sophomore year!

Favorite Inspirational Quote: The cost of procrastination is the life you could have lived.

Advice for First-Year Students: College is hard, but you only fail at something if you stop trying, so never stop trying and keep your best foot forward!
