FYS Class:
Class of: 2027
Major/Minor: Biology Pre-Dental
Resident/Commuter: Commuter
Favorite Class: My favorite class is Organic Chemistry. Chemistry used to feel very intimidating to me, but something clicked once I started organic. The logic behind the reactions and mechanisms finally made sense, and I found myself spending the most time on this class simply because I enjoy it. It challenged me in the best way and helped me realize that I’m capable of mastering material that once felt overwhelming.
Favorite Place on Campus: My favorite place on campus is anywhere outside, especially once spring and summer arrive. The campus is beautiful during those seasons, and being outdoors helps me feel relaxed and connected to my surroundings. If I had to choose one specific spot, I’d say the courtyard. It’s peaceful, open, and a great place to take a break, study, or just enjoy the atmosphere.
Clubs/Organizations:I’m an active member of the Biology Club, which fits perfectly with my curiosity and my love for lifelong learning. I enjoy being part of a community where we explore new scientific ideas, discuss current research, and connect biology to real world issues. It keeps me engaged, constantly learning, and surrounded by people who share the same excitement for discovery.
Future Plans: In the future, I plan to attend dental school, but I’m also open to any opportunity that keeps me connected to biology and medicine. Whether it’s working in a dental office, a research lab, or a hospital setting, I’m passionate about being in environments where science, patient care, and hands on learning come together. My goal is to keep growing in the field while gaining experiences that prepare me for a career in dentistry.
Favorite Inspirational Quote:“Live for yourself and you will live in vain; live for others and you will live again” – Bob Marley
Advice for First-Year Students: Give yourself permission to grow at your own pace. College isn’t about having everything figured out on day one, it’s about learning who you are, asking questions, and taking small steps that add up over time. Stay curious, stay open, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
