Chantalle Reyes

FYS Class:

Class of: 2026

Major/Minor: Major: Social Work, Minor: Anthropology

Resident/Commuter: Resident

Favorite Class: Urban Anthropology because my professor (Erick Castellanos) is so engaging and not in a way where we feel upset about talking in class. He relates everything to our everyday life in a way that makes us comfortable speaking about our everyday lives. Regardless of the professor, I love all the topics on the curriculum, it really opened my eyes.

Favorite Place on Campus: George T. Potter Library because I just put my headphones on and immediately focus. I love the view from the windows as I’m reading, and the sunset looks so pretty there.

Clubs/organizations: Black Student Union, Students of Caribbean Ancestry, Organization of Latino Unity, book readers of Garfield,

Future Plans: I plan to student teach in the fall of 23 and spring of 24. After graduation, I’m going to continue my education at Ramapo and receive my masters in Special Education.

Favorite Inspirational Quote: “Just keep swimming” – Dory

Advice for First-Year Students: Enjoy all the events and locations on campus. These four years will fly by before you know it. Go to any event that interests you, even if you go alone because you can meet new people there!
