By freezing tuition for new out-of-state students, we are making a commitment to help you plan your budget and add even more value to the already high value and proven quality education. 

Who Qualifies:

First-time, full-time Ramapo College students who are permanently domiciled outside the state of New Jersey and who qualify for out-of-state tuition costs are eligible* for this program.

*Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress and remain in good social standing to remain eligible.

1. What is Ramapo College’s Four-Year Tuition Freeze Program for Out-of-State Students?
Ramapo College knows the cost of college may be overwhelming.  Our Four-Year Tuition Freeze Program for eligible out-of-state students is designed for families who wish to establish a baseline cost and be able to plan financially for the next four years, knowing that tuition costs will remain stable.  Eligible students will pay the same tuition cost for all four years.
2. How long does the tuition freeze last?
For undergraduate first-time, full-time,  out-of-state students, the four academic years of the Four Year Freeze includes eight consecutive semesters, from the student’s  first semester of enrollment at Ramapo College.
3. Who qualifies for the four-year freeze?
The Four Year Freeze Program applies to First-Time, Full-Time undergraduate students who are permanently domiciled outside the state of NJ and qualify for out-of-state tuition.   *New Jersey residents and transfer or returning students are not eligible for the program.
4. What is included in the Four-Year Tuition Freeze Program?
The program covers Tuition ONLY.   Costs that are not covered by the Four Year Freeze are: Fees, Room and Board, and Course Fees are not included and may increase each year. Other fees and charges incurred by students are not included. These fees and charges may include textbook purchases or rentals, library and parking fees and fines, lab fees, recreational fees, meal plans, and other non-tuition costs. Room and Board are NOT included in the Four Year Freeze Program, but Ramapo College also offers an automatic $6,000 Out-of-state Housing Scholarship for out-of-state students who live on campus in one of Ramapo College’s Residence Halls.

6. How does the out-of-state student tuition freeze program affect scholarships?
All students who apply to Ramapo College before December 15 receive priority consideration for merit based scholarships.  Merit Scholarships awarded by the Office of Admissions are renewable for four-years and will retain their full value with the Tuition Promise since both the cost and the scholarship amounts will stay the same for four years.   *Students must maintain the required GPA and remain in good social standing to maintain their scholarship award.
